What is the difference between Weleda Skin Food Original and Skin Food Light?
Skin Food Original Ultra-Rich Cream has a rich, intensive texture intended for dry, rough areas. Skin Food Light Nourishing Cream provides similar plant-based moisturizing care in a lighter, faster-absorbing formula. Original is better suited to areas needing richer moisture, while Light works well as an everyday face or body moisturizer.
Can Weleda Skin Food be used on the face and body?
Yes. Skin Food Original can be applied to dry areas on the face, hands, feet, elbows, knees, heels and cuticles. It can also be used on the face as a moisturizing primer or highlighter. Skin Food Light is likewise suitable for the face and body but has a lighter texture that absorbs more quickly.
Are all Weleda skincare products vegan?
No. Weleda offers many vegan-friendly products, but the entire collection is not vegan. For example, Skin Food Original and Skin Food Light contain animal-derived ingredients such as beeswax and lanolin. Weleda identifies its vegan-friendly formulas on the individual product packaging and product pages.
What does the NATRUE certification on Weleda products mean?
NATRUE is an independent international certification for natural and organic cosmetics. Products carrying the NATRUE seal have their formulations and ingredients assessed against the organization’s standards, followed by an inspection of the production facility. Weleda has produced NATRUE-certified natural cosmetics since 2009.
